We are Thankful for What's Happening in the Pemi Baker Valley!

Another Wednesday finds us just before Thanksgiving and the real ramp up to the Holidays!!  This weekend is a GREAT weekend to live, work or play in the Pemi Baker Valley!  We all know the day after we fill ourselves with Turkey and Pie is a day lots of people fill their carts with gifts for their family and friends, but how about this year our hearts and pockets fill those closest to us? How? Well come out and shop local on Saturday November 30th, also known as Small Business Saturday!  The small businesses in and around our community are the folks who sponsor our little league teams, donate to school and community fundraisers and charities, and make the Pemi Baker Valley a tight knit and friendly community!

This weekend amongst various wonderful events, the small businesses in and around Waterville Valley, Campton and Thornton have organized a small business Saturday Poker Run, where when you make a qualifying purchase at any of the participating local businesses you will receive a playing card.  Use the various cards you receive throughout the day to create the best poker hand possible, and turn that into Ski Fanatics by noon on Sunday and you may win one of many great prizes!!!!  Here at Sara Holland and Company, we will be hosting a refreshment and wrapping stop, where you will still receive A card for your poker hand, as well as enjoying some light refreshments such as coffee or hot chocolate, and have (LIMIT 3) your locally made purchases wrapped by our team of amazing SHC elves!  So swing by 399 Rt. 49 (across from the Dollar General) for coffee, hot chocolate, holiday cheer and gift wrapping, get your poker card and refuel to complete your holiday shopping. We will be here and wrapping gifts from 10 am-6 pm!!! Check out our Facebook event page for more information!

Speaking of Thornton and Waterville Valley......both have great options for you and the family to get out and kick off the holiday season!  Thornton is having its Christmas Light decorating contest and tree lighting.  Two bus tours will depart, one at five and one at six to view the various light displays and then you can vote on your favorite.  Once the tours are complete the tree will be lit and the winners will be announced.  Due to popularity it is highly recommended that you call ahead or post on the Facebook event page to let them know you plan on coming, what tour and how many adults and children will be attending!  Check out the event page here for more information....

Have kids who want to see Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes? Well luckily Saturday at 3:30 pm Santa will arrive in the Waterville Valley Town Square bringing gifts and candies for all the good girls and boys who attend. So come on down, meet Santa, stroll through the quaint shops and get your purchases for your SBS Poker Run cards.....then stick around and watch the amazing fireworks display over Corcoran Pond at 7 pm!   More information can be found on the Facebook event page.......

No matter what you choose to do this coming weekend, we here at Sara Holland & Company wish you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with food, family and fun, and we hope to see you, and your locally made purchases on Saturday!!!!!!
